California Olive Ranch Olive Oil Review and Giveaway

I only use olive oil, coconut oil, or butter in my cooking.  Most health experts agree that using things like Crisco, margarine, or other highly processed fats is bad for us.  My favorite oil to use is extra virgin olive oils.  These have tons of health giving properties that are well documented.  I even use them in baking.  But I recently found out that many olive oils on the store shelves have been cut with cheaper oils.  Most of these originate from places like Italy and there is no way to know.  One way to make sure that you are paying for true 100% olive oil is to buy oils made here in the USA.  I am excited to introduce my readers to California Olive Ranch!

California Olive Ranch  is a company that grows, harvests, and  produces 100% olive oil right here In America, they have won several awards and believe in producing the best tasting, freshest oil possible.

We believe in making great olive oil and healthy food available to everyone. We’re so passionate about the quality of our olive oil, that we grow and harvest our olives with the same care that California wine makers apply to their grapes. We press our olives within hours of picking to seal in the fresh taste.

We think you should know exactly where the olives in your olive oil come from. Our olive oil is traceable back to the California ranches where our olives are grown. We also believe that you should know how fresh your olive oil is, that’s why every bottle of our olive oil displays the harvest date.

The oil they sent me for review is their Extra Virgin Olive Oil and I love it.  It is a mild and fruity everyday oil that goes great on salads and for cooking.  For the big bottle I received it runs about $10.00 at most grocery stores, but there are always coupons and sales to watch for.  To me the flavor was very nice and fruity with no bitterness and just a hint of pepper.  I use it to sauté veggies, baste meats, and as the fat in breads, as well as mixed with a little balsamic vinegar and mustard for a salad dressing.

I am so happy to be able to buy an American Produced olive oil.  I feel that the standards are so much higher here in America for food production as apposed to other countries, and I love that I am supporting our local economy.  Not to mention I'm buying something that tastes amazing!
