Lunch Skins Re-Usable Food bags Review and Giveaway!

As you may know I am trying to eliminate plastic from my life.  I do it for lots of reasons, but the most important is to reduce my families exposure to petro chemicals.  My second most important reason is I hate throwing away up to 8 (or more!) plastic baggies from my family of 6 per day.  That's allot of waste!  So when Lunch Skins offered to let me review several of their products I was thrilled!

Never heard of Lunch Skins?  They are a company that came up with an idea who's time was long over due.  Namely, making re-usable Sandwich Bags,  Lunch Totes, Bibs, Big Sandwich Bags and snack bags.  The Sandwich and Snack bags come with either Velcro or zipper closures.  Not only that, they designed Lunch Skins to be fashionable, durable, affordable, and dishwasher safe.

 

With summer coming I am gearing up for all those outings, day camps, vacations, and camping that we love to do.  Packing lunches and snacks is paramount to me and having great bags like these is amazing.

 

What makes LunchSkins food-safe?

We regularly put LunchSkins through rigorous testing by independent labs. They have been certified as lead, Bisphenol-A (BPA) and phthalate-free. LunchSkins meet federal and state, including California, consumer product safety requirements.

LunchSkins are made from a quick drying fabric that is coated with a food-safe polyurethane liner. This unique high-quality fabric was originally manufactured for pastry bags used in bakeries, restaurants and home kitchens. Additionally, LunchSkins are grease-proof and moisture proof making them ideal for messy sandwiches and snacks.

 

As soon as I received my lunchskins my kids fell in love due to the cool colors and patterns.  I agree with them completely that lunch skins are really adorable.  I can choose a different pattern for each child and then there are no mix ups on whose food is whose.

 

 

 

They are very well made and after several washings look brand new.  When I tried to open the Velcro that keeps them closed it was really tough so I know they will stay sealed and not spill.  I also like the zippered bag because Velcro can be hard for younger children but zippers are easy!

 

I love that I can just pop them in the dishwasher when I empty out lunch boxes and then the next morning they will be squeaky clean.  The prices for these are very affordable as well.  This is especially true when you look at how much money you will save over a year of not having to buy sandwich or snack bags. 

I heartily recommend this product for everyone!  To me it is the perfect pairing of saving money, making our families healthier, and doing something good for the environment!
