Is Your Cinnamon Toxic?

There is a great movement of people using cinnamon for health. Ample evidence shows that cinnamon can help with high blood pressure, diabetes, weight loss, arthritis relief, brain health,  e coli fighter, blood thinner, ect. Watch the short above video which explains it really simply.

But did you know there are different types of cinnamon?  Indeed there are, and the most common sold in American stores is actually mildly toxic!  So if you are thinking of taking cinnamon for health make sure you avoid pretty much everything sold in regular stores which is usually cassia cinnamon.  The best cinnamon is Ceylon Cinnamon which is also known as true cinnamon. I have tried both for baking and liked the Ceylon due to its sweeter less abrasive flavor before I even knew about the toxicity issue. You have to check the label especially on supplements, and if it doesn't list the type you can pretty much assume that its cassia!
