I love all natural soaps and cleaners. Not just because I have allergies to regular store bought soaps, but also because there is mounting evidence that the constant saturation of chemicals over years in a normal American home is causing many illnesses and diseases. Every day we apply tons of chemicals in our soaps, lotions, deodorants, and makeup that not only are not natural, but contain compounds proven to cause cancer and other diseases! For me finding and using natural products is a must!
So when Dr. Woods Soap company offered to let me review some of their products I was thrilled! Dr. Woods Soap is a company that produces castile liquid soap, bars soaps, facial cleansers, and shea soaps all right here in the USA! They use only natural ingredients and their products are 100% Natural & Vegan, Paraben & Phthalate Free, No Petroleum Derivatives, and No SLS!
Here is their philosophy -
We want to feel good in all ways – from what we put on our skin or in our body, to how we treat others and our environment. We want to feel special and indulged, without being wasteful of robbing future generations of our natural resources.
That’s why we strive to use only the most natural, effective and sustainable ingredients we can find.
We make everything here in the USA, but search the world sourcing the finest ingredients for our products to create a brand we believe in… a brand that makes a difference by doing what’s right for you, your family and our planet.
I received two products from Dr. Woods for the purpose of review. The Garden Cucumber Raw Shea Butter Soap which is under $3.00. And the Lavender Liquid Castile Soap at $10.99 for 32 oz.
First I reviewed Lavender Liquid Castile Soap which is very mild, moisturizing and versatile for everyday use as a body wash, facial cleanser, shampoo, and bath soak. It didn't make me break out (I seem to be allergic to something in many soaps) and are vegetable based, containing no animal fat. They are natural and biodegradable, perfect for consumers who care about the environment.
Castile Soap contains olive oil, giving it natural healing properties and the ability to attract moisture and hold it close to the skin to form a breathable layer that prevents moisture loss. Dr. Woods Castile Soap does not contain any harsh detergents that can strip away skin’s natural moisture. The Vitamin E rich lather leaves skin feeling naturally soft and clean and I loved the lavender scent. Dr. Woods is eco-friendly and ideal for guilt free camping and laundry. I liked everything about this soap except that I used it up way too fast!
Next I reviewed the Garden Cucumber Raw Shea Butter Soap . It has a nice light scent and produces a rich lather without drying out the skin. It contains mint leaf exfoliant that gently cleans and rejuvenates the skin. Organic shea butter, crushed mint leaves and Vitamin E are all contained in the soap with antioxidants and natural soothing properties. This is great for gardeners hands and is very affordable! The only drawback of this bar soap is that it is very soft, so you must keep it up out of any water in between uses or it dissolves.
In conclusion Dr. Woods Soaps is a great Made In The USA company that produces high quality, natural, affordable soaps. I would recommend these to anyone looking for natural body care products. They carry a full line of liquid and bar soaps in all sorts of scents.
