Is your salt real? I know I know, who questions something as simple as salt right? Salt is something we just take for granted as safe and natural but nothing could be further from the truth! The salt you buy in the store is saturated in chemicals and stripped of any minerals that would actually help you! Believe it or not salt is and can be good for you in my opinion. But it has to be REAL. That means no anti caking agents, no bleaching, and no stripping out of the essential minerals that raw salt contains.
Salt is one way to get those minerals that have been stripped from our foods due to over farming and over processing. Minerals are absolutely essential to life and salt was one of the ways humans and animals get their minerals. I have been trying to use natural salts as much as possible when I came across Redmond Salt. Redmond Salt is a USA based company that mines an ancient salt and clay bed underground. You can see my review of Redmond Clay HERE. Redmond Salt sent me several products for review.
As I have researched the company and tried the salt myself I found many things make Redmond Salt different (and better) from other natural salts you can buy.
Based Mined and Made in the USA - Redmond Salt is mined from an ancient salt and clay deposit under ground right here in the USA. I like that allot because not only are we supporting a local company, but it is a fact that labor standards in foreign countries is very poor, often utilizing child labor and subjecting their workers to unsafe work environments.
Mined from an ancient Sea Bed- This means that the salt is still underground and not exposed to any pollutants. Salt like Celtic sea salt is from our oceans so any pollution in the ocean is getting into the salt.
No added chemicals, pollutants or heat treating- this ensures that Real Salt has all the minerals your body needs without questionable anti-caking and bleaching agents added.
Flavor - Redmond Salt has such a great flavor compared to even other naturals salts. It is slightly sweeter than other salts.
I also tried the Real Salt Organic Garlic Salt and Onion Salt which were both great. They do taste of onion and garlic and I enjoy knowing that the salt I'm using is healthy and organic.
I would recommend Redmond Salt to anyone! It is affordable, Made In
The USA, and most important healthy!
