How To Color Tint Mason Jars

DIY: Tinted Mason Jars in Rainbow

I know on my previous posts on Mason Jar DIY projects they always show the neat antique blue or green ones.  But I would hate to have the few I own break so I found a way to tint regular clear mason jars different colors for lighting projects!  And its super easy and cheap.  Enjoy

  1. Cool idea! And looks/sounds so simple! I'm betting if you wanted to be able to put food in the jar (like cookies in a jar); you could just use the mixture and paint it on the outside of the mason jar. Then it would be usable for food products. As long as you don't try and "can" with it. Just a thought.

  2. Thanks for the link. I have been wanting to do mason jar lighting since I saw some in a pottery barn catalog. The tint would be very nice with it.
