Mother's Day Gift Guide and A Giveaway! ToiletTree Skin Cleansing System

Mothers Day is coming! But don't panic! I know how it is. I always struggle with getting my mom a gift that is not only something she will like, but also something that expresses that I care for her. And as we all know moms sacrifice allot for their kids. I always think that the best gift for a mom is something to pamper her. When ToiletTree offered to let me review one of their items I looked through their site. They carry lines in Skin Care, Travel Accessories, Bathroom Accessories, Oral Care, Grooming, and Bamboo Products. Needless to say I was challenged to pick something, but then I thought "Hey! I'm going to get something for myself for once!" So I chose the ToiletTree Skin Cleansing System. This set can be for women or men. And it's not just for the face either. It has attachments for the whole body!

System includes: 2 face exfoliators (1 soft for sensitive skin types & 1 medium for normal skin types), 1 body exfoliator and 1 pumice sphere (refills available). Water-Resistant strap for convenient hanging.

It also comes in a range of colors so you can pick one you or your loved one will like best.

So how does it work? Here is a description from the company.

The professional Skin Care System, along with a daily cleaning regimen, helps assist the following:

-Stimulates skin renewal
-Improves overall skin clarity and appearance.
-Removes dead skin cells to expose healthier-looking skin
-Energizes skin and leaves it sooth, soft and radiant.

I used the system for about two weeks before writing this review. I used it every day on my face and used the other brush on my body and the pumice sphere for my feet. I noticed after two uses that the skin on my face was softer, more even toned, my pores looked smaller, and my skin looked fresher since the dead skin was being removed. Just that in itself made this system a winner!

Then using the other brush and pumice stone. My skin is smoother on my arms and legs where I have been using it and as for the pumice stone well.... I have to say I have terrible feet. I have a hard time setting aside time just to take care of ME. I think all moms struggle with this. But the pumice stone has really helped me buff away calluses and make my feet pretty.

In conclusion the ToiletTree Skin Cleansing System is a wonderful product that lives up to it's description. It also is very well made and comes with the batteries you need so if you are sending this as a gift she wont have to go out and buy them. I think any mom would love this as a gift because it gives her an excuse to take some time to take care of herself for a change!

Also it is very affordable. Some of the similar systems I have priced are hundreds of dollars! Way out of my price range. I would never spend that much on myself. In fact right now it is on sale for $35.00! There are allot of other products at ToiletTree that would make great Mother's day gifts so be sure to check them out.

As a mom of four kids, I have a well stocked cold and flu shelf out of necessity. Every winter brings its coughs, colds and runny noses. Review/Giveaway Pleasant Hill Grain Butter Bells - The perfect way to store butter

Pleasant Hill Grain, based in Nebraska is a company that carries all sorts of products to help you live a more self sufficient life. From grain mills, juicers, bread ovens, meat grinders, and different food processors to long term food storage, baking supplies, whole grains, and even garden seeds.

They only carry the highest quality kitchen appliances and foods. When they asked me if I would like to review their line of Butter Keeper Crocks I was more than happy to agree. I have seen butter bells before and they are a great way to keep your butter fresh and spreadable in any weather. In the hottest summer you fill the well with clean water and it keeps your butter from melting, but still spreadable. They come in a wide selection of different colors and styles you can see HERE. I had such a hard time picking, but since I love blue and that's the color of my kitchen I picked the Butter Bell Retro Collection in Royal blue $19.95.

When I received it I put it right in the dishwasher (Yay dishwasher safe) and then filled it with butter. I was really happy with the quality of the craftsmanship. It is really durable, but still attractive. So far after weeks of use there are no chips, even with 4 kids. They love using it by the way and think its really "cool". After using all the butter up I just pop it into the dishwasher to clean. Very easy!

Pleasant Hill's Butter Bells are such a great product and would make a unique and useful gift. I know that any hostess would love to get one of these!

I would recommend Pleasant Hill Grain to anyone looking for well priced high quality baking supplies, home good, and kitchen appliances.

Review/Giveaway Gourmet Garden Organic Herbs And Spices

I love to cook with fresh herbs. My problem is that if I buy a package of herbs at the store more than half of them go to waste because in each recipe it only calls for a small amount. I hate wasting food! That's why when Gourmet Garden Herbs & Spices offered to send me their full line to try I was thrilled.

One of the reasons is that these herbs and spices are packaged in tubes that last up to three months! Meaning that I can use them as I need them and always have fresh tasting herbs and spices for my cooking!

The second reason is because they are extremely high quality ingredients. Gourmet Garden herbs and spices are grown on organic farms on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Within 24 hours of harvesting they are simply washed, chopped, blended and packed into tubes guaranteeing their fresh taste and nutrition for up to 3 months.

Their product line is staggering with 14 fresh herbs to use in your favorite recipes. The difference in using fresh herbs as apposed to dried is huge! The flavors are brighter and more intense with fresh which is why I always prefer to work with them.

I used Gourmet Garden Herbs & Spices in a variety of ways for this review. One was in a make ahead breakfast egg dish that I make so that in the mornings I have a healthy protein filled option for my children. I used the Garlic paste in place of the garlic powder and it turned out delicious. Also in this recipe I could have used the dill or chili paste to add more kick. Review/Giveaway More Than Alive Raw Nuts Package

I have recently made a big push to go with a real food diet for our family. This is not as hard as it is for some people. I have long made almost all of our foods from scratch, at first out of necessity due to it being cheaper, and then as an added bonus of tasting amazing and being better for us. But still, our diets had tons of room for improvement. The more nutrient rich and organic I can make my cooking the better. So when More Than Alive offered to send me some items for review I was thrilled.

More Than Alive is a company that carries food storage, high quality water filters, bulk foods, bulk herbs, supplements, books, and clothing accessories. They focus on natural health and promoting health through high quality products.

They have an extensive Bulk Foods sections where they carry things like nuts and seeds, nut flours, black teas, spices, and cacao powder to name a few.

They sent me their Nut Package for review. I use nuts all the time in my cooking and snack foods. Nuts are extremely healthy. They contain tons of minerals and healthy fats. The minerals are especially important to the healthy function of our bodies. I received one pound each of Raw Almonds, Raw Cashews, Raw Walnuts, and Raw Pecans.

My children love having nuts mixed into their yogurt as a treat, or mixed into snack mixes in the afternoon. This is one of the best ways to get them minerals in my opinion. Another way I use these nuts is mixed into my morning oatmeal. I like the walnuts personally and use steel cut oats which metabolize much slower into your blood stream so there is less of a sugar spike from the carbs.

I used some of the almonds and pecans in my Homemade Healthy Granola. The almonds were big and plump and had a great sweet taste. The pecans were huge and full halves. The quality is obviously very high. The cashews we have just been eating out of hand as a snack and with yogurt. They are really yummy. I haven't used the walnuts because I am saving them for holiday pies, but I did sample a few and they are very good. Sometimes walnuts can be bitter but these are not. Walnuts can be used in many recipies that call for pecans and I have had a great walnut pie that is like pecan pie.

I would recommend these nuts to anyone, they are at a good price and would make great additions to the diet or use in holiday baking.

I received two products from Dr. Woods for the purpose of review. The Garden Cucumber Raw Shea Butter Soap which is under $3.00. And the Lavender Liquid Castile Soap at $10.99 for 32 oz.

First I reviewed Tea Tree Castile Soap which is very mild, moisturizing and versatile for everyday use as a body wash, facial cleanser, shampoo, and bath soak. It didn't make me break out (I seem to be allergic to something in many soaps) and are vegetable based, containing no animal fat. They are natural and biodegradable, perfect for consumers who care about the environment.

Castile Soap contains olive oil, giving it natural healing properties and the ability to attract moisture and hold it close to the skin to form a breathable layer that prevents moisture loss. Dr. Woods Castile Soap does not contain any harsh detergents that can strip away skin’s natural moisture. The Vitamin E rich lather leaves skin feeling naturally soft and clean and I loved the lavender scent. Dr. Woods is eco-friendly and ideal for guilt free camping and laundry. I put this soap into a foaming hand soap dispenser and use it all the time by the kitchen sink. I wash my hands constantly due to cooking and cleaning so a non irritating, soothing hand soap is essential. This castile soap from Dr. Woods fits the bill. I like the tea tree scent which is not overpowering.

The Skin Lightening Rose Bar I received was something I really wanted to try. Here is a description of it's benefits.
